Songs

Warning, severely out of tune, Parkie singing today

They say that laughter is the best medicine.

However the power of music can not be far behind.

Songs can have a multitude of benefits to us Parkies.

We might as well put that toe tapping to good use.

The beat can get us swaying and moving beyond our tremors.

Using the right song

With the right lyrics

can assist us in our self talk

Our positive self talk

Will guide us to

Ideas that we might use

For our power affirmations

You remember

Those power affirmations

A list of words that

We use to

Get us back into

a good head space

When those negative thoughts start to creep back into our head

For example mine are;

I have a good day

when I remember to

1: socialize

2: move

3; Laugh

Singing stimulates the

8 senses that gather the input data .

That input data.,will then be sent to the brain. the brain will process that information and create an output, That Output will then be sent out for the body to move freer.

Singing those positive lyrics

can work on our;

Voice ; timber, volume

Facial expressions : body language

Breathing : tongue placement, swallowing

Hearing: better balance

Singing daily for at least 10 minutes reduces stress, clears your sinuses, improves posture and can help you live longer.

There is much that music and singing can do to assist in battling Parkinson’s !

Use the beat

To put Parkinson’s

Into defeat

So snap your fingers

The music lingers

Do what you can

For a happy feeling

Sometimes all we need

is …

A SONG!

Have fun and be a Warrior
