Parkinson’s stages?

Twist and shout- Ferris Bueller

Diagnosed : May 25, 2012 Video Date: Jun 11,2023

Is it just me?

When I get asked

What stage my Parkinson’s is in? My reply is

“ The living with it stage.”

The symptoms come at me in different speeds

and different,

for lack of a better word, ferocities,

And at different times.

All spurred on by ,

What I am doing,

Who I am doing it with,

and How I am doing it,

My Parkinson’s

like my life

is full of variables .

Yes there are consistencies

but each one has a different consequence.

So the stage I’m in

Is similar to Snagglepuss choosing the right exit.

Using his catch phase

“Heavens to Murgatroyd!”, “Exit, stage left!”, even.”

( look him up)

What stage is my Parkinson’s?

It’s a movement disorder.

It fluctuates.

I’m in the fluctuation stage!

One part of my day

I can be a Marimba dancer swaying to the music,

Later on in that same day,

I find myself,

Frozen in place,

Swaying only

By the strength of a Saskatchewan breeze.

Don’t get caught up categorizing your Parkinson’s!

Get caught up in living your LIFE with Parkinson’s,

when those opportunities

to do so

present themselves.

Grab on!

Enjoy the ride!

To me there are three stages

1: pre diagnosis

2: living with diagnosis

3: when I die, it dies

Enjoy Stage TWO

Til next time

“Heavens to Murgatroyd!”, “Exit, stage left!”, even!”

Have fun and be a warrior
