Man in the mirror

Man in the mirror: Michael Jackson

Diagnosed: May 25, 2012 Video : Apr 26, 2023

I have four questions about

Parkinson’s awareness

1. What’s the purpose ?

To bring a general knowledge and better visibility and or understanding to the uninformed.

2: What is our target audience?

Look in a mirror. See that person looking back at you.

That’s the person . It’s YOU!

It’s kind of hard to be an advocate if you’re not comfortable in talking about it.

Learn about it, it’s uniquely yours, after all .

3: How do I know I’m ready?

How often have you heard the story, “ I didn’t come out because I was worried about….”

(My job, how others would treat me, etc.)

Well,

When it stops being about, “me”

And starts being about , “ we”!

You are now probably ready!

Not saying there won’t be or even shouldn’t be some “me “time.

But over all, it is easier to move on with the diagnosis

When the “we “ plays a bigger role.

4: Where do I start?

The where isn’t important.

The When , will often dictate the where.

You will find many opportunities to talk about it during your day.

Read the situation.

Don’t bore them with the details .

Feeding them information a piece at a time is still providing them information.

My bonus question

5: What are your thoughts on my 4 questions?

If you answered question 5. My job here is complete.

I just got you to talk about Parkinson’s!

You are aware of that, right?

Have fun and be a warrior
