The Parkie Parkie shake

The hippy hippy Shake. ( the swinging blue jeans)

Diagnosed :May 25, 2012 Video: Apr 05, 2023

In the name of Parkinson’s awareness , I’m going to tell you about some of my symptoms.

For example, the difference between Tremor, Dyskinesia and Dystonia.

You might see me out and about in the public while I have Dyskenesia.

But you won’t see me if I have Dystonia.

I will probably be screaming in pain, As this hurts like hell !!!’

The Tremor and Dyskinesia that I experience with My Parkinson’s ,

Looks worse than it is.

It doesn’t hurt and sometimes ( most of the time), I’m unaware I’m even doing it.

I guess it has just become a part of who I am now.

How ever, there are repercussions.

Try being on the move,

Every waking minute of your day.

Fatigue, muscle aches, lead to mobility issues.

And what seems to be an oxymoron.

Is that, exercise, Which means moving the body.

Is good for a disease, that involves, moving the body!

PARKINSON TREMOR

Parkinson’s tremor differs from most other types of tremor because it is a “resting tremor.”

It happens most often when a body part is relaxed rather than in motion.

For a Parkinson’s patient, a hand may quiver when resting in a lap or when holding a utensil to the mouth while eating.

This is often one of the first signs of Parkinson’s and it is thought that approximately 70% of people with the condition have a tremor at the time of diagnosis.

Anxiety, excitement, and stress can worsen the tremor.

Other body parts may be affected by the tremor, including the legs, lips, jaw, or tongue.

The vast majority of people with PD will notice a tremor at some point in the disease, though iy is not unheard of to not have Tremor.

DYSKINESIA

Dyskinesia is an involuntary, erratic, writhing movements of the face, arms, legs or trunk.

They are often fluid and dance-like, but they may also cause rapid jerking or slow and extended muscle spasms.

They are not a symptom of Parkinson’s disease (PD) itself but can be triggered by the medication.

Dyskinesia tends to occur most often during times when other Parkinson’s symptoms, such as tremor, slowness and stiffness, are well controlled.

Dyskinesia occurs from

Wait for it

Long term drug used to treat What?

Wait for it,,,.,……

To treat PARKINSON’S

Ironic isn’t it???

DYSTONIA

Dystonia is a movement disorder that causes the muscles to contract involuntarily.

Cramp up !!!

This can cause repetitive or twisting movements.

The condition can affect one part of your body (focal dystonia), two or more adjacent parts (segmental dystonia), or all parts of your body (general dystonia).

The muscle spasms can range from mild to severe.

They may be painful, and they can interfere with your performance of daily tasks.

Can be Painful?????

Yea right!

Can interfere with your daily

Tasks?

Unless your daily tasks involves rolling on the floor in pain?

Yeah, they will interfere!

Unless you like getting kicked in the groin

I guess it doesn’t hurt.

On the other hand,

It hurts like hell !!

For me the cramping starts in the toes and works its way up my legs.

The cramps get so intense and they make my muscles feel rock hard.

Even a hot bath with Epson salts, painkillers, and a massage don’t seem to help.

It is just something I have to endure.

Fortunately, they don’t happen all the time

They make an appearance, about once a month

Oh joy,,

something to look forward to

Welcome to My Parkinson’s

In the mean time,

Have fun and be a warrior
